A symposium at Tokyo university was held
iCeMS/QNM center and NIMS held the meeting entitled “New developments on nanomedicine and cancer research” at Ito Auditorium, University of Tokyo on September 10-11th, 2025. This symposium brought together researchers from diverse fields to engage in heated discussion on nanomedicine and cancer treatment. The participants included experts in novel nanomaterials, imaging, boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), nuclear medicine, photothermal therapy, cancer immunology and rare cancer models.

A symposium at UCLA was held
iCeMS/QNM Center organized a symposium at UCLA entitled "New developments in Biomedical Sciences”. This event was co-organized with Kyoto University International Strategy office, UCLA Dept. of Microbio., Immunol. & Molec Genet, California NanoSystems Institute and Academia Sinica in Taiwan. This was in collaboration with JSPS San Francisco Office and UCLA Japan Center.

Kyoto University signed a global academic partnership with UCLA; activity between Kyoto University’s Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS) and UCLA’s Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) in the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) and the College of Life Sciences. We will internationally cooperate in conferences, research projects, and postgraduate education and training.

UCLA-Onsite Laboratory "Quantum Nano Medicine Research Center" was approved as one of the Kyoto University Onsite Labs recently. See the announcement by Kyoto University (http://www.kyoto-u.ac.jp/ja/about/events_news/office/kikaku-joho/kikaku/news/2019/190723_1.html ).
This center, one of the onsite labs within the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS), will initiate activity on October 1, 2019 and aims to advance a new field of research that emerged from the fusion of physics and medicine.
Professor Tamanoi will coordinate this center activity.
